TIL that Reddit is banning smaller porn subreddits and arenā€™t allowing users to claim them in redditrequest to make way for their eventual ban on NSFW content. So Iā€™m looking for NSFW alternatives in any Fediverse platform.

I saw a lemmy instance that allows porn for the first time earlier but it explicitly allows drawings of underage shit :/

Thatā€™s weird, itā€™s illegal in most countries.

it was drawn loli/shota, thatā€™s legal in most countries I think, but I still find it extremely disgusting

@ImOnADiet @Veritas Iā€™m guessing Pawoo or Baraag, the latter allows anything that isnā€™t expressly illegal, so anything drawn, but limits on photos, the former is Japanese, and they have different laws regarding whatā€™s allowed compared to the rest of the world.
As to instances, rubber.social comes to mind, but I know thereā€™s more out there as my little Mastodon instance is connected to a relay thatā€™s basically all adult content (1 of 6 or so relays I use).

I was talking about lemmy instances, itā€™s hard to follow mastodon content like that here on lemmy, I was complaining about a specific lemmy instance. Sorry for being unclear

@ImOnADiet Ah, gotcha, I havenā€™t really gotten into Lemmy, I canā€™t quite figure out how to use it, searches for the things I follow on Reddit come up empty, so Iā€™m not sure ifā€™n theyā€™re not there or Iā€™m just not looking in the right place.
I think Lemmy would be a great replacement for Reddit ifā€™n there was some kind of index for the groups on there, that way it doesnā€™t matter the server youā€™re on, youā€™re guaranteed to find what youā€™re looking for.

it can be finicky looking for stuff yeah, thereā€™s this tool :https://browse.feddit.de/ if that would help

@ImOnADiet Iā€™ve tried that before, and unfortunately it doesnā€™t bring up anything I follow on Reddit, like Canoo, St Louis (there are two tiny MO groups), or Ford Maverick, let alone any of the porn.

ah, yeah lemmyā€™s still too small right now to have that niche of communities I think, and also Iā€™ve only seen that one instance thatā€™s allowing porn so far

@ImOnADiet Oh? More to the point, I think itā€™s size is a byproduct of confusion, finding an instance, or more importantly, finding a community, is tricky, as there doesnā€™t seem to be an easy way and obvious way to find them like Reddit it. Lemmy, or anything comparable (I think thereā€™s two others, one dead, one live) needs to make it just as easy if they expect to grow. Creating a way communities could be followed similar to how users are followed would also help.

Iā€™m unsure what you mean? You do subscribe to communities on lemmy just like reddit, you can search for communities here on lemmy by making sure you have all selected. The only time it can be a little hard is if no one from your instance has subscribed to those communities, but power users take care of that normally

@ImOnADiet Forgot to respond, sorry. Iā€™m referring to finding communities, that doesnā€™t work too well, so maybe indexing all the communities would help with that, it could be done in a DNS like way where the same index is available on multiple servers to reduce the load on any one of them. This might also help with community fracturing (same subject on multiple instances) too.

We really just need one massive instance thatā€™s akin to what matrix did with matrix.org

Mozilla please!!

Although itā€™s not actually part of the Fediverse, there is a decentralized FOSS image board known as Danbooru (Github), which hosts hentai, as well as regular anime artwork.

TIL that Danbooru is decentralized

TIL that Reddit is banning smaller porn subreddits

Iā€™ve not heard this one, do you have a source/thread about it?

Thatā€™s about not allowing nsfw content through the API though - different to banning nsfw subreddits.

I mean, you donā€™t think itā€™s coming? If not an outright ban on NSFW, I would imagine theyā€™re going to come up with some ā€œreddit plusā€ payed version to enable access to NSFW.

True, sorry for the misinformation. Nevertheless, consuming picture and video content via the official app is not great UX.

I just started one focused on butts šŸ‘€ booty.world to ā€˜back upā€™ some of my fave booty-related subreddits.

I have no idea what I am doing though :} So canā€™t really say its ā€œgoodā€ but its there.

I think you need to create at least one community inside your instace for others to be able to federate to it (tried it but with just the instance doesnā€™t seem to work).

Thanks!. Yeah I gotta figure that out. Something funky going on.

There are several communities in there atm but Iā€™m getting some ā€œoddā€ federation behavior.

If you are interested in federating there are two ways I have seen it work (again, warning, note that it is NSFW šŸ˜€ ):

  • use your search feature on your main instance and enter !butt_frenzy@booty.world then you can subscribe

  • or, from your main instance, alter your url to: {your main instance}/c/butt_frenzy@booty.world so for example if your main instance is lemmy.ml that would be: https://lemmy.ml/c/butt_frenzy@booty.world

^ butt_frenzy is one of the communities on booty.world for example.

Gotta be a better way, and I am probs doing something wrong. Will work on it. Open to feedback if anyone has any advice though haha.

Thanks.

Itā€™s working now, thanks. Still canā€™t see the list in communities without an account so maybe creating a landing community just to check a list and a warning about the content could help

Weā€™re an up-and-coming Lemmy instance, which allows NSFW content. Though weā€™re also fairly lax on speech, so it definitely isnā€™t everybodyā€™s cup of tea.

pixelfed.social so much porn there. Does anyone know any sfw pixelfed instances?
