There is a decent section dedicated to Fediverse towards the end.

Best bit was the snippet of Nilay Patel (Editor of THe Verge), saying that the internet is going through some sort of reset, like 2011 and not like last year at all. Splintering of big social, news and government institutions re-emphasising their own home pages and email accounts (so funny how email still reigns so supreme still), on which the rise of European Governments establishing their own servers on the fediverse is important here. And, of course, he points out how decentralised social is attractive to companies because it allows them to essentially have less responsibility.

A community dedicated to fediverse news and discussion.

Fediverse is a portmanteau of “federation” and “universe”.
