Yeah damn, ok then it doesn’t make sense for my FF camera, especially because I also already have the 35mm 1.8

Ah good point on the APS-C being much smaller lenses.

Pancake lens for Sony A7C?
Are there pancake lenses for the A7C? While in Japan I saw a lot of older japanese guys with some camera which I couldn't identify, it looked like some digital remake of some older camera, but what struck me was that they all had this pancake lens which made the whole package very thin and small. My A7C is also very compact already but the 35mm 1.8 lens is, while very compact, by far not flat, so I can't put it in my pocket for example. It doesn't need to be very fast, because I will use it mostly outside in good light.

Mine is pretty easy, I import the pics with a shell script from the sdcard into a date based file structure: ~/Pictures/YYYY/MM/DD/

Then I use Dark table to look through the imported pictures and give them 1-5 stars and mark which ones to delete. Then I delete the ones to delete. And then I go through the ones I want to use for something and edit them. After that I export them as jpeg and publish.

As backup I use synology drive and back up ~/Photos offsite and use DejaDup to backup ~/ to a USB hard drive.

I am thankful for myself! I am my own moderator and my own admin. This way I almost don’t have to deal with other people. /s

I only have to deal with them in conversations like a coupple of days ago someone congratulated me to have written the new stupidest comment on Lemmy.

Anyway, Lemmy is where I spent most of my little time on the internet, I’m very suprised how well everything works despite it being alternative media without VC funding.

It depends on your question, yes it looks like that everywhere in Palestine, but also in Israel, for example in Betlehem or Nazareth. But you mentioned the building standing in the background. In Gaza most of the buildings are destroyed now I would assume. In the Westbank this is not the case.

Mind you this is Hebron which is in the Westbank, not in Gaza.

Actually I’m mostly interested in how long it takes until you as a amateur photographer “recover” from having children. I was out and shooting and traveling so much before, but now 95% of the photos are the baby. But to be honest I’d love to go out and shoot, but I can’t. I have to take the baby with me and then it’s all focus on him and the camera is then only heavy and in the way. Changing lenses is the worst.

This is me in 2019 when I visited the ancient city of [Hebron](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebron) in Palestine. I'm on the rooftop of my AirBnB, smack in the center of the old town where the old market streets are. Behind me is a Israeli military base. Normally I take the pictures, but this picture has been taken by one of the children I met there who were learning English, the boy on the right, he wanted to try out my professionally looking Nikon D600: ![Two children on the rooftop in Hebron old city](https://jemmy.jeena.net/pictrs/image/44057f08-34da-4d38-a6ec-c0abd077df57.jpeg) Even back then in the night I heard shots fired and soldiers running out of the base to somewhere. Later I saw on Instagram that the shots were rubber bullets shot on a journalist and he lost one of his eyes, here is a link to a new story about it: https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20191120-palestinian-journalist-loses-eye-after-being-shot-by-israel-sniper/

If I was a YouTube creator and would know anything about hosting then I’d get a $5 VPS and host my videos there by myself, this is one of the few ways you can be in controll.

Is there some kind of a roadmap when 0.19 might come out?

I’m doing POSSE to mastodon, but for everything else I host my own instance like Lemmy, PeerTube, blog (RSS), Pictures (RSS), Matrix.

There already is alt text in the markdon in the body, but yeah it would be good to have it for the header picture too.

Although I’m hoping for AI to be able to do that automatically.

It’s PeerTube. I have a explainer video on how federated subscriptions work in PeerTube as part of my PeerTube Admin Chrenicals series: https://tube.jeena.net/w/b5DBfFwPU8FCWW24gCU7TY

So much about not having a filter bubble on DuckDuckGo.

Hm then it might be some geo thing that it doesn’t show anything in Korea:

Searching for PeerTube in Bing and thus DuckDuckGo gives zero results

Bind mentions that "The search result may have adult contents has been filtered." and that "age verification is required". While DuckDuckGo just shows zero results. > > I understand that there might be PeerTube instances with adult content in the search results but I don't believe all of them have adult content. I know mine does not.

Could you post some of the photos? It’d be interesting to see.

My favourite lense is the old Nikon ED AF Nikkor 180mm 1:2.8, it has the same design since 1986, the only thing changed was the barrel.

Lense from above

It’s increadibly sharp for it’s age, but the auto focus is very slow, because it doesn’t have it’s own motor as far as I understand and relies on the motors from the camera body.

Here is a example picture:

Haha yeah, at least not a typical, I’ve been living here for about 2.5 years but I’ve been living more like a family/dad life ^^.

I was walking around close to the mall around here and there are many park attendants who tell you how to park. They all sit in those little containers and watch TVs which seem to be from the 90ies.

Why are tele converters so extremely expensive?
I got the new Sony 70-200 mm F4 Macro G OSS II and it's amazing, even though very expensive. Anyway while looking at all those YouTube videos about it people were very often mention that it's compatible with tele converters and you'd get basically double the size lens (with half the light) + 1.0 macro instead of 0.5. Sounds amazing, and it looks like just a little bit of a short pipe which makes the lens to be a bit further away from the sensor. I was thinking that it would be neat to get one, but when I looked at the prize, oh my god, $548. I don't get it, so what makes it so expensive?

I found the colors interesting and the synchronized walk.
