You all can downvote me but if you’re not interested in living in the land of facts, demonstrating any attempt at backdooring Fediverse products beyond “bad money in a think tank”, then there’s literally not even the smoke to indicate a fire.

Can you share anything that indicates that understanding governance is even tangentially related to backdooring these products or the teams behind them? Is the best response really “wait four years and see”?

That hardly means they’re investigating how to take over instances… These egghead think tanks will do research on anything that matches a couple buzzwords and this is one of them.

Someone’s researching governance in a federated environment and that’s scary because…?

I have a feeling that we’re already skewing this way nationally with low pay and high academic requirements.

Thanks for this! I’ve been needing some stuff to do outta the house and this is wonderful. Here’s to hoping there’s more cool stuff!

Bummer to hear these are closing but such is life when you’re dependent on a landlord to keep you in business.

Regardless of any political feelings (in which case it’d still be fuck this guy), he is such a habitual liar and has been caught multiple times doctoring footage, setting up conflicts as a conspirator with right wing agitators, doxxing totally unrelated people and even faking an accent. Insane guy who was cash grabbing off right wing fear mongering.

I truly cannot understand how watering the tree is beyond the capability. They can’t get some water out there???

This is a very dense read but I’m saving it for later to put on my ereader. :)

Yeah, I get a “land acknowledgement” but that sounds like you’re tryna take a shit on the town.

Kinda wild that such basic asks have to be pushed for by a union but all counts should be easy for management handle.

Looks like it was something particularly targeting Spanish-speaking residents which makes sense. I’m sure some postcards didn’t cost enough money to put a dent in any budgeting.

Unfortunately, that sub hasn’t been useful for news for awhile. It’s somewhere between a shitty police blotter and just pandering photos. I kinda wish there was more engagement about events and things unique to the city over here but we’re building the world we want to have.

I think that’s fair and factors into the conversation but a good roaster can make a huge difference in the quality of a coffee bean. Price is still gonna be a consideration for my regular cup of joe but I do find some joy in branching out and having some other treats.

Another Coava! But I’m a heavy enough coffee drinker at home that I’ll give both a shot!

As of late, most of my coffee drinking has been a Trade subscription or ordering from my hometown all the way back in Delaware. It’s good enough coffee but I wanna try some more local flavor since Portland has such a big coffee culture.

A lot of Coava love! Never picked up their beans but the honey latte is really fun. Gotta swing by there again.

I did ride over there on my bike and they had some decent beans!

What’s your go to coffee roaster?
Coming from the east coast, I’m trying to find that perfect Portland coffee bean to make for my morning ritual. What’s your favorite coffee roaster in the metro area? Bonus points if they do a great espresso on site as well!
