Isnā€™t gitlab one of those shitty ā€œopenā€ core projects?

netsplits/defederation.

You canā€™t just tell someone to register for any server, and they will be able to see everything. So they then have to choose a server, which takes effort, and can cause analysis paralysis.

Itā€™s 10 times the number of instances that lemmy.ml blocks, if that helps.

For some reason there seems to be minimal overlap between the two communities and that blows my mind.

There seems to be completely different cultures IMO

  • Quote replies are normal on lemmy, but controversial on mastodon
  • Full text search is normal on lemmy, but, again, controversial on mastodon.
  • A significant proportion of lemmy users seem to dislike defederation, or at least view it as a last resort, while it seems to happen at the drop of a hat on mastodon.

At least thatā€™s the impression Iā€™ve got from my limited attempts to use mastodon.

Guess I overdid the hyperbole, it probably came across stronger than intended, sorry.

Someone who claims to be a socialist, but who has a pathological obsession with identity politics and dividing the working class, and gives little regard to class consciousness or worker solidarity. Usually has an extreme hatred of patriotism despite patriotic socialism being the official ideology of the Soviet Union. Often defends lumpen behaviour to a bizarre extent.

Did I miss anything?

Isnā€™t Germanyā€™s antifa infested with antideutsch crazies?

I normally hate the whole de-federation thing, but the radlib chapocels there are annoying af.

Iā€™ve not had jams. Sometimes if thereā€™s dust on the top piece of paper, from not using it for a while, it stops the ā€œinkā€ from adhering there, which is annoying. You shouldnā€™t need to buy paper and ink separately, because of how dye sublimation printers work you will always have enough ink for the paper and vice versa.

I have a CP1300.

I have a canon selphy, the prints are good quality, and you can print from SD card or via wifi (I think thereā€™s an app too, but Iā€™ve never used it)

You can buy a battery for it, although it charges from mains not USB.

Prints arenā€™t super cheap, but I think itā€™s cheaper than comparable mini printers.
