Mastodon has three tabs usually, the followed users tab, the instance only tab, and the federation tab. The racist uncle would appear in the third one.

I mean, I see no problem with someone creating an instance specifically for this, it would even be good for archival purposes. But doing it here? Hell naw, I don’t want r/conservative or whatever other the_donald-like hellholes Reddit still has, polluting Lemmy.

There is also the problem with “gone wild” style subs, where the users posts their own explicit pictures, but that doesn’t mean they want those pictures reposted elsewhere without their control.
