Moving instances is easy, I don’t see why you wouldn’t do it. If you as a user block Threads then it’ll probably only hide their stuff from you, while still sharing your posts and comments.

The small comms I’m subscribed to don’t show up in any sorting, I have to actually visit them to see there was a new post. I heard the devs are doing something to improve it, so hopefully that’ll make small comms more viable

It could also be that the instances federating with Threads are on the hook, because they’re giving data on EU residents to a third party
