Well I have signed up for Loops, the federated tiktok alternative. I signed up on Monday and havenāt still a mail about how to start, after the signup. So Iām writing this to hear from others, who have signed up for loops, whathavet you experience with the signup, have you got both mails, or are you just like me still waiting and looking for news all the time on Mastodon? Maybe we could help each other, be patience together and yir discuss loops and talk about the hopes we have for the tiktok alternative.

And by mobile only they also mean Android only. Apparently iOS doesnāt have a client currently.
I know, but where are all the 2000 people who have signed up?
Personally, I donāt this will have much success because titok is driven by algorithms and influencersā¦itās built for lazy scrolling consumers that follow the latest trends. People that use it donāt care about the data privacy or ethics of it, they just want to know what the latest song or dance craze is ā¦ Add to that ease of use to add graphics and music tracks. Also reach is everything.
I donāt think we have to expect that it will have the same success as tiktok , but a strong alternative. Sometimes I just want to consume , and there is pixelfed and probably loops a good alternative, because its not full of influencers, ads, and so on. Just like YouTube once just was people making vids, the good old times.
I donāt have an opinion either way on this but can we not act like corporate for profit social networks havenāt thunderously dropped the ball on this kind of thing lol

Itās a slow rollout. Dansup is doing his best to put a good foot forward, thereās a lot of moving parts, and itās fairly more complicated than some of his prior work. Iām super stoked for it, and canāt wait to put together a detailed review.
