RSS fans, you can follow hashtags via RSS using the address: (server)/tags/(hashtag without the #).rss For example if you want to follow the hashtag #dogs on mstdn.social you would add this address to your RSS feed reader: https://mstdn.social/tags/dogs.rss This will show all the public posts with the tag #dogs that can be seen from mstdn.social, including posts from other servers. Just passing on a tip from FediTips I didn’t know about. Using the format

(server)/tags/(hashtag without the #).rss

Your RSS Reader can follow hashtags e.g.

https://mstdn.social/tags/dogs.rss

You can see everything with the hashtag ‘dogs’ on mstd.social and every instance mstdn.social can see.

I regret that I stopped using RSS after Google Reader died. Moving my news feeds to Twitter and Reddit was a big mistake.

Long live RSS!

You can still come back!

I have and it’s great, using NetNewsWire and Feedly for the time being until I’ve got something self-hosted setup.

I just set up FreshRSS, and it works great with NetNewsWire. One of the easier setups.

Feedbro on FF and Vienna on OS X have been my goto options and they are great.

Yes I am in the same boat, but recently resurrected my RSS collection with FreshRSS, the self-hosted application for RSS aggregation. Has many mobile applications, browser-addons etc. Only thing missing is my vast organized collection of websites.

Is this also possible for Lemmy? Would be nice to get Lemmy community posts3in RSS feeds
