Do we know if Sync for Lemmy will support tablet mode?
For those of you that have never used Sync here on Lemmy. Sync for reddit had a tablet mode switch you could toggle on and it was easily the most user friendly app with tablets it could split your feed in half while allowing you to scroll right in the feed and on the left hand side for your threads and it created multi tabs for threads you had open. I wonder if Sync for Lemmy will be able to do the same thing.

I Can't Wait... But I Can
I know we're all anxious for Sync for Lemmy. I also know there's a lot that goes into getting Sync ready as it transitions from Reddit to Lemmy. It isn't a process many of us are all that familiar with or... well, let's face it, we wouldn't have a community waiting impatiently for our app. The beloved ljdawson has always provided, not only a feature rich and completely customizable experience, but a sturdy and dependable app, free of most of the bugs and issues many of the others couldn't. Link handling, sharing options, mod tools... we had the luxury of taking for granted. Luxuries that the list of fledgling Lemmy apps can't begin to offer because of the reason why I *can't* wait for Sync for Lemmy, and that's the primary reason we all should be happy to... I'm currently using my mobile browser to access Lemmy. Every app, from the official Jerboa to Connect to Thunder and Wefwef and many others in between, have their strengths and weaknesses, individually, but one trait they all share: the bugs in communication with the Lemmy platform as it develops ahead of them. It feels like their developers are so anxious to push their app that that don't, and due to its ever-developing nature, CAN'T address some of the disconnects that make their app unpleasant to use and this is exactly why, as much as I am missing an app that delivers my fix for content, I am willing to wait for Sync. LJD has, in the past, proven that a dependable experience is an important feature of his app and if a little more time is required to deliver that? I'm happy to give it to him. Because what use is a Sync-like UI if many functions slide an error message from the bottom with little more than some html as explanation? Or an attempt to submit a post doesn't even offer somewhere to input the link to your content? Or the myriad of other standards Sync so graciously allowed us to become accustomed to? I don't write articles for some tech site, so this was probably long winded and mostly unnecessary but I felt like, maybe, some others are stuck between checking for the email to finally get a solid Lemmy app daily and being completely willing to give as much time as needed for an experience that isn't so... exhausting. It's a tough spot to be in, especially if you share the opinion that a solid Lemmy app will really make this whole thing happen. For now, this is the only place we can be, so whether we like it or not, patience in the appreciation that a little extra time may do a LOT more good than just satisfying our individual content addictions is the side I'd recommend we all remain on. LJD, thanks for what you're doing, take all the time you need...

Please make sync for iOS
I have used sync on android for about 6 years and loved it. However having moved to iOS, I would love to have a similar experience with how the UI was and just how goddamn smooth it was. I do understand if it is a large undertaking but I just want to show that there are people on this side of the ecosystem that would be happy to use it.

developer taking suggestions?
I've tried Jerboa and Connect. They are ok, but there are features I'd like. Biggest feature is account backup and transfer. If I switch Lemmy instances, I don't want to have to sub and block all the same channels and people. Heck, maybe keep two accounts always in sync, just in case my initial instance goes down. Instance blocking. Basically individual defederation by hiding posts and users in the client. Blocking all subs of a name regardless of instance. If I don't want to see a sub about Foo on one instance, I probably don't want it anywhere. Keyword blocking. There are public figures I am tired of. Don't need to see any post about them. (Connect actually has this, although I haven't tested it yet). Really easy channel blocking. Just swipe and it's blocked.

I am glad the developer was able to make time for transitioning to the Fedeverse!
Seven months ago my suggestion seemed impossible: ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/1f243efc-809d-488c-91d3-578950fc0138.png)

Reddit Sync Revanced patch
Hi All, If anyone still wants to use Reddit Sync there was a post up on the Reddit page for the Revanced patch. In case you might want to stick to Sync till the Lemmy app launches. Here is the tutorial shared by the creator, u/KobeW50 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wHvqQwCYdJrQg4BKlGIVDLksPN0KpOnJWniT6PbZSrI/preview?pli=1 I tried it and it worked. You can try it on Sync Pro if you have the apk. I am pasting u/hihowareyou0_0's simple guide. -Go to https://www.reddit.com/prefs/apps Click on "Are you a developer? create an app..." Give it any name. Set it as "installed app." **IMPORTANT**: Set " redirect uri " to http://redditsync/auth create the app. **TAKE NOTE OF THE CLIENT SECRET** (the gibberish text and numbers below the Name) Go to any Text editor (I use an app called "just notes") Copy + paste the client secret. (And nothing else.) Save the file and call it " reddit_client_id_revanced.txt " MAKE SURE TO NOT SAVE IT ON ANY Folder, JUST THE INTERNAL STORAGE/ROOT Download (not install) this sync for reddit apk Install & open Revanced Manager Make sure all permissions are enabled (Especially " All files access ") Go to the "settings" tab. Enable "experimental patches support." Restart revanced manager Go to the "Patcher" tab. Click on " Select an application. " Then CLICK ON "Storage" and select the .apk we downloaded. Click on "select a patch." Select " Change Oauth Client ID" (and optionally "disable ads") click on done. Then finally click on "patch." Now wait for it to patch and install the patched apk! If it asks you to update, **DON'T.** (just a warning)
